Expiration Date: 10 minutes

Purpose: Used to throttle request rate.

Cookie – _utmb

Expiration Date: 30 minutes from set/update

Purpose: Used to determine new sessions/visits. The cookie is created when the javascript library executes and no existing _utmb cookies exist. The cookie is updated every time data is sent to Google Analytics.

Cookie – _utmc

Expiration Date: End of browser session

Purpose: Not used in .ga.js. Set for interoperability with urchin.js. Historically this cookie operated in conjunction with the _utmb cookie to determine whether the user was in a new session/ visit.

Cookie – _utmz

Expiration Date: 6 months from set/update

Purpose: Stores the traffic source or campaign that explains how our users reach our site. The cookie is created when the javascript library executes and is updated every time data is sent to Google Analytics.
