Mhammed's Career with IDS - From Development Scientist to R&D Group Leader

I joined Biocode (later acquired by IDS) in Liège in February 2000 as development scientist. In this role, I was responsible for the generation of antibodies for the 3×3 (the former IDS-iSYS Multi-Discipline Automated System), the culture department  and development of the animal assays). After the acquisition of Hycel by Biocode in 2003, we worked together with the instrument engineering team from Pouilly on the development of the analyser in terms of analytical performances and the impact of each individual analyser module.

In 2007 when Biocode Hycel was acquired by IDS, I was in charge of the development of Osteocalcin and then became R&D Project Leader of the development of the Growth panel.

Although language appeared in the first instance to be a barrier, working with English-speaking colleagues has offered me the opportunity to learn and become more fluent in English. In May 2013, I was appointed R&D Group Leader. As part of my career development IDS have provided me with managerial training to support me in my new role.
