Our activities in marketing range from defining the strategy and selecting target markets, working with R&D to bring new products to market, and driving sales. This makes the marketing department a crucial part of the IDS Group, in which we ultimately work to enhance customer value and experience.

Sam’s Career with IDS – A New Group Product Manager

I joined recently, as a Group Product Manager, initially covering the IDS-iSYS Bone Metabolism panel. My area of responsibility has since expanded to encompass the new IDS-iSYS steroid assays that are currently in development. In the few months that I have been at IDS I’ve been involved in submitting products to the FDA, developing product specifications for new parameters, and participating in product design reviews. I have also attended international congresses, training sessions and customer meetings; it has been great to have been given some of these additional responsibilities despite the brevity of my time here.

From my previous marketing role, I had experience of the typical activities involved in Product Management and this knowledge has grown rapidly since starting with IDS. I really like how my knowledge and experience has expanded so far in this role and I expect this will continue, as in the near future I will be involved in activities to launch new products in the USA.

As with anyone starting a new role, I was apprehensive to start and felt anxious at the need for relocation. However, the culture of IDS has been very open and friendly, which has really helped me as a new employee to feel welcomed and make a good start to my new role.
